Better than the Beach—Calgary AA Ringette Dads Volunteer in Mexico!

Here’s a story about more Calgary AA off-season antics—but this time, it’s a few of our Ringette Dads skipping out on beach-time to bring community support in Los Cabos, Mexico. Please read about their contribution and info below. Thank-you for sharing, you guys make us proud!

CALGARY AA RINGETTE HITS MEXICO! Well sort of…

For a few years now, a group of Calgary AA Ringette Dads have been hitting Los Cabos, Mexico, after ringette season for some R&R. This last trip—we got off the beaten trail and hooked up with a local charity group, Feed Los Cabos Kids (www.feedingloscaboskids.org), to help feed some of the local kids. It’s a very different world out there once you get away from the resorts and restaurants, and see what these kids and families deal with on a daily basis. Just getting food on the table is a challenge.

Just like our athletes, these kids were full of energy and ready to ‘play.’ What better way than a little Minute to Win It, and you can probably guess what game we played! If any of you are in the Cabo area, we encourage you to consider contacting this great organization. It’s a few hours of your time and the experience is very rewarding. Bring your cookies, smarties, ping-pong balls and any other Minute To Win It games you can think of. Crazy fun!

-Scott W, with Russ P, Steve M, Paul D, Paul C, Todd T, Mark G, and Shawn H

U14AA Red and NW U10 Step 3 Trouble—Out for a Game Cheer and Mentor Practice

In support of our ringette community associations and younger athletes, our Team Red caught up with NW U10 Trouble, inviting them to cheer on a league game against Team Blue, and sharing a mentoring practice afterwards. Trouble was enthusiastic off and on the ice, and both teams had a blast. Good luck with the rest of your season, girls!

Two (good) kinds of Trouble!
