For the 2024-25 season, fall tryouts are scheduled for August 26th - September 1st with teams drafted and announced on the evening of September 1st.

Only those ringette athletes that are registered will be considered for fall tryouts—please don’t miss the closing date for tryout registrations! For more information about AA Ringette Calgary program registration and fees, please refer to our Registration page.

  • Locations: Huntington Hills, Great Plains, NESS
  • Separate tryouts will be held for U14AA, U16AA and U19AA divisions.
  • For U14AA, we welcome all athletes interested in our program and tryout process. At the U16AA and U19AA levels, out of respect for our tryout process, athletes should only attend tryouts if they are fully ready to commit to the AA Ringette program.
  • Please remember to also register with your local ringette community association for the upcoming season.

NEW for 2024-25

Shoulder pads are mandatory for all age divisions commencing August 2024.  Athletes without shoulder pads will not be allowed on the ice for their tryout.  For more information, please Ringette Calgary's Mandatory Shoulder Pad Policy.

For the upcoming season, AA Ringette Calgary will be forming teams to meet the AA program goals and deliver a rich experience for our athletes. Team sizes are pending approval of Ringette Calgary but are also subject to change based on the number of registrants and tryouts:

      U14AA — 3 teams of 13 skaters, 1 goalie
      U16AA — 3 teams of 13 skaters, 1 goalie
      U19AA — 2 teams of 15 skaters, 2 goalies

After tryout registrations are closed and just prior to the start of tryout sessions, ice times will be emailed to you by the Head Coaches from your division. Once posted, please refer to our 2024 Tryout Schedule for dates, times, and locations. NOTE: The schedule is subject to change, so please check back regularly.

During tryout sessions, players will participate in drills and scrimmages, and are given equal opportunity to demonstrate their skills in skating, ring control, ringette sense, knowledge of the game, competitive drive, and sportsmanship. All players will perform the same drills.

Following the initial round of ice times, prospective AA athletes will be selected to move forward to the next tryout round and their names will be posted on our website. Refer to the tryout schedule above for the number of ice times.

Final team selection will occur by draft and the team rosters will be posted on our website.

If a player misses tryouts because of illness, injury, or family emergency, but still wishes to be eligible for selection, please review and complete the Medical Exemption from Tryouts - Policy and Form prior to the start of tryout sessions.

There will be some opportunity to ask questions of Division Coordinators and Calgary AA Ringette personnel during tryouts. Division Coordinators will be available at the arenas. We respectfully request that questions be directed to the Division Coordinators and not the Coaches or Evaluators during this process.

AA Ringette Calgary hosted a parent meeting on TBA  for U14 and at TBA for U16/U19.  For those that miss the meeting, meeting minutes will be posted after the sessions.

Enjoy the rest of summer and we look forward to seeing you at tryouts!
